Aug12Beds2Welcome to South Acton Community Allotment, South Acton’s own communty food growing space. If you’re interested in learning how to grow some of your own food but not sure where to start, we are here to help…

GYO_220x110_ThumbFrom March we’ll be back on the allotment some Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings once the clocks change, making raised beds, and starting the years planting.

Allotment Sessions are for all ages and abilities and will introduce you to the basics of food growing to give you the confidence to have a go at home. Best of all, you can take away some of what’s growing and a couple of free pots of salad leaves salad to grow on your windowsill or balcony.

You don’t need to bring anything as we have tools and gloves, even for smaller hands. If you prefer, feel free to bring your own gloves and firm shoes if you have them, oh and a jacket if it’s not sunny, just in case.

Once you’ve started growing you might have a few questions, which we’re happy to answer. You might also want a bit more info on what pots to use or what grows best in your sunny or shady space. So here are a few links to feed your thirst for knowledge.

Enjoy!
